Definition of Musings:  absorbed, pensive, reflective,  thoughtful, deep in thought, retrospective, ruminations, aphorisms---a terse statement of a principal or belief or opinion, a short clever saying expressing a general truth.

How we came to name this site.

“40 acres and a mule” was a term used for compensation that was promised to the freed African American slaves after the Civil War.  We thought this an appropriate name for our homestead since we have recently been freed from a long, bitter battle involving an oil company and their lies and cover-ups. It’s over. Resolved.  A nightmare we want to forget.  Welcome, this is our story as we piece back together our lives  and start anew.
